Stephan MacLeod is a conductor and singer, born in Geneva. He is the founder and artistic director of Gli Angeli Genève, an ensemble specializing in period music. MacLeod conducts 40-50 concerts annually, including collaborations with ‘modern’ orchestras, and teaches singing at Geneva’s Haute Ecole de Musique. In 2024, his projects include conducting Bach, Stravinsky, and Mendelssohn, as well as singing in concerts and recitals worldwide. MacLeod studied violin, piano, and voice, later performing under renowned conductors. His career also includes a focus on oratorio, opera, and conducting, and he has recorded over 100 CDs.
