Bas Wiegers is an energetic conductor who works with leading orchestras and operas, from Baroque to contemporary music. As Associated Conductor of the Munich Chamber Orchestra, he brings a varied repertoire, including debuts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2023/24. He has worked with orchestras such as the SWR Symphony Orchestra and the Estonian National Orchestra and is a valued partner for composers such as Georges Aperghis and Rebecca Saunders. Bas Wiegers also teaches orchestral conducting at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and is active in music education.
