Brett Dean, a renowned Australian composer and conductor, was a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker for fourteen years. His work, often inspired by literature and visual art, is performed by top orchestras worldwide. His opera Hamlet won several awards, and he received the Grawemeyer Award and Ivor Novello Awards for his compositions.
As a violinist and conductor, Dean works with orchestras such as the Sydney Symphony and the Concertgebouw Orchestra. From 2019-2023 he was Composer in Residence with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and in 2024 he became Visiting Professor at the Royal Academy of Music.
