Mark Williams has been CEO of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra since April 2022, where he has led the organization through its centennial season. Prior to that, he spent nine years at The Cleveland Orchestra and as Artistic Administrator at the San Francisco Symphony. Williams has extensive experience in artistic and operational roles, including launching a digital concert series at Cleveland.
As Black CEO, he is committed to diversity in the arts sector and supports emerging Black and Latinx leaders. He is a mentor at Sphinx LEAD and a Trustee at College Now Greater Cleveland. Williams trained as a horn player and received his university’s 2017 Alumni Achievement Award.
